Community, Volunteering, Friendship and Education

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), one of the world’s largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational, women’s volunteer service organizations, was founded in 1890 and chartered by the 56th United States Congress in 1901. The Helena Woman’s Club, a part of the federation, has been serving the community for over 100 years.

Recently the club’s projects have included:

  •          Supporting the mission of the YWCA through various projects
  •          Cell Phones for Soldiers
  •          Scholarship funds for the Cancer Family Network Camp
  •          Bedding for the residents of the Lewis and Clark Humane Society
  •          Support for the Chapel at Warm Springs
  •          Good Greens: Growing vegetables for the Helena Food Share
  •          Sewing blankets for those who need one
  •          Collecting clothing and school supplies for an Ethiopian orphanage
  •          Collectively supporting Race for the Cure and NAMI events
